Features and application

Container transformer station STKB for inside operation, designed for MV cable power grids for radial, magistral, and ring-shaped power feeding.

The station is enclosed in reinforced concrete casing, consisting of the foundation, prefabricated side walls with floor panel, and a roof.

Depending on configuration, the casing can be divided with wire mesh partition into the following compartments:

  • transformer compartment
  • compartment for handling MV and LV switchgears
  • compartment operated by a power distribution company

Access to each compartment is possible due to separate alu-zinc coated sheet steel doors with an additional layer of primer undercoat.

Container transformer stations in concrete casing for inside operation can work with MV cable network in ring and radial arrangement, as well as LV cable network.

They are used to supply power to:

  • housing estates in cities
  • parks and recreation areas
  • suburban housing estates and villages
  • construction sites
  • industrial plants and craft workshops

The station is designed as free-standing unit to be placed at locations most suitable for recipients.

Options

In the standard version, the station design allows to place in the transformer compartment a hermetic unit with a maximum power of 630 kVA.

However, after consulting the station manufacturer, it is possible to adjust the transformer compartment to individual client requirements (introduction of high-power units or other types of units, e.g. oil distribution transformer with conservator or cast resin transformer).

As standard, STKB stations have the following switchgears:

MV type:

  • air-insulated – PEGASO, RM-20, RMt-20, XIRIA
  • SF6 insulated – CGM COSMOS, RM6, SM6
  • or other after prior consultation with the manufacturer

LV type:

  • RTE, RTEa, FastLine hanging switchgears
  • RTL, RTLs wall-mounted, free-standing switchgears
  • CUBIC, xEnergy, PrismaPlus free-standing system switchgears
  • other after prior consultation with the manufacturer

Switchgears constitute independent elements inserted into the station, and they are operated from the shared hallway of the station or a compartment dedicated for a power distribution company.

Additional equipment:

  • meter panels
  • capacitor banks
  • cubicle
  • safety equipment

Certificates and authorisations

The transformer station meets the requirements of the following standards:

  • PN-EN 62271-202:2010 High-voltage switchgear and controlgear: High-voltage/low voltage prefabricated substation.
  • PN-EN 62271-200:2007 High-voltage switchgear and controlgear. Part 200: AC metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear for rated voltages above 1 kV and up to and including 52 kV.
  • PN-EN 62271-1:2009 High-voltage switchgear and controlgear. Part 1: Common specifications and related standards.
  • PN-EN 62271-201:2010 High-voltage switchgear and controlgear. Part 201: AC solid-insulation enclosed switchgear and controlgear for rated voltages above 1 kV and up to and including 52 kV.
  • PN-EN 60529:2003 Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP code)
     has certificate no. 0976/NBR/2011

The station was tested by the Institute of Power Engineering in Warsaw for compliance with the following standards:

PN-EN 62271-1:2009, PN-EN 62271-202:2010, PN-EN 62271-200:2007, PN-EN 60439-1:2003/A1:2006 and is 0976/NBR/2011 certified.
