Features and application

The bank construction is made in the form of powder-coated sheet steel casing whose size depends on power. The casing has ventilation grilles with filters, which ensures natural air circulation inside the bank and prevents dirt from getting inside the bank. Individual steps of the capacitor bank are connected to busbars selected according to power through fuse disconnectors with fuse links and contactors which connect capacitors to the network.Capacitors banks BK-APC

The main method of improving power factor cosφ is reactive power compensation which can be achieved by installing capacitor bank. Capacitor bank is a source of inductive reactive power and improves the power factor from the place of its installation to the energy source. In other words, instead of drawing reactive power from distant power plants, it is provided from capacitor banks installed on site. The mains is overloaded with the transmission of reactive power. BK APC capacitor bank is selected so as not to fully cover the demand to reactive power whose minor part is still covered by the mains. The capacitor bank is equipped with an electronic power factor controller which ensures a constant, preset cosφ value.

DCRL electronic reactive power controller, manufactured by LOVATO Electric, and 4G10 cam switch, switching on the controller’s power supply are mounted on the door of the capacitor bank.
